The Lied Imperial Public Library
This $1.5 million facility offers plenty of reading and study space as well as a collection of 36,800 items including a wide variety of books, magazines, movies, newspapers and local history.  The library is open 44 hours per week and has an average annual circulation of 32,067.  Free wireless internet and public access computers are available.  The library is a participant in the “Library Broadband Builds Nebraska Communities Project” and has been awarded 11 new public access computers and other equipment. Services provided by the library include faxing, interlibrary loan, microfilm reader, NebraskaAccess database, photo copier, printers, scanning, public meeting room, audio books, e-books and more.  Activities provided by the library include Li’l Readers; an interactive story and play program for parents and tots ◊ Story Hour; stories, crafts and activities for children age 3 to kindergarten ◊ Summer Reading Programs ◊ occasional after school activities and game nights for school age children, young adults, and families ◊ Dial-a-Story ◊ Book Clubs ◊ various other programing.

The Imperial Theatre
The Imperial Theatre is owned and operated by the City of Imperial. In 2011, the theatre upgraded to digital projection, surround sound and installed a new screen. Other than the projectionist, the theatre is operated by community volunteers. Movies are shown on Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday nights at 7 p.m.  Call 882-4470 for movie information or check the community calendar.

The Imperial Republican
Owned by Johnson Publications, the Imperial Republican is available both online and in traditional newsprint.  The winner of several awards, the Imperial Republican is an excellent resource for learning more about our community as well as issues facing the state.  The Imperial Republican is one of Imperial’s original businesses.  The current owners and co-publishers, Russ and Lori (Johnson) Pankonin have been involved with the paper for over 30 years.
